Dad rushed round today to diagnose why the Jetwasher wasn't working. Caroline had neglected to turn the pump on, which would explain the lack of pressure.
Then the next-door-but-one neighbour told Dad today that our houses would be knocked down and someone was coming to talk to us about it. This is because I find myself in the middle of an Urban regeneration area. I immediately checked up on the internet and of course she was wrong. We are currently in the consultation period and someone is coming to talk to me, but only to solicit my opinion and the final plan will not be formulated until December.
Not that I don't suspect they are going to destroy my home. Just that it isn't official yet and even if they are then it won't be within the next two years.
Actually, I'm pretty sure that my house is okay, as they are interested in regenrating poor housing stock in areas of high unemployment and my road suffers from neither problem. The only thing counting against us is the fact we only have two bedrooms and no toilet upstairs.
