Guess that plant!
I've mentioned before about checkout girls looking for Aubergine under "O" and thinking celeriac was a turnip but today I was stunned as a teen couldn't identify something I thought was fairly common.
[Poll #538106]
Today I went accross to Ellesmere Port to look at the farmers' market. Sadly there wasn't a lot there but I got some minced beef for bolognaise and some lamb to make biryani plus a bumper pack of sausage and bacon to freeze. On the way home I found a fishmonger that sold more than smoked mackerel and salt fish so I've just prepared and cooked, for the first time ever, a whole trout. It only cost me a pound, too, and unlike when I buy from the supermarket I'm not left with a fish I'm not sure what to do with.
