22 degrees! That's, like, really warm. I'm thinking back to last year and the lobster-like quality of my skin after working on the allotment and I think I'll go out today and get a gardening hat. It's as good a thing as any to spend the £25 in vouchers the guiding district got me.

22!

Oh poor neglected plot.

Loads of horsetail everywhere which is depressing. Not sure what I can do apart from covering it and constant vigilance. First bed is looking happy, no sign of the beetroot yet but the radish are marking my parsnips beautifully. One set of broad beans and the mantout are out but the peas and the other broad beans are a bit shy. My first load of potatoes are sprouting through and need earthing up.

The cauli had produced a fabulous head which I photographed Dad holding. Sadly it hasn't made it to flickr yet so I can't post the proud father.

The bad news is that humphrey isn't doing very well, possibly due to the dry weather over the past week. Poor Humf.
