Do you use the given name your parents gave you? Have you (ever?) adopted a different name? Is there anything unusual about your name that you routinely have to explain to others?
I use my given name although preferably in a shortened form. I love my name and can't imagine being called anything else. The only thing I don't like is that I have no middle name - the closest one I have is my confirmation name, Margaret.
I've never wanted or needed to adopt a different name. I've never felt the need to use an alias online or in any other sphere. I guess I don't do anything odd or secret :)
The only unusual thing about my name is that lots of people have problems pronouncing or spelling it in it's shortened form. "Ang" is pronounced to rhyme with "flange" (resist people). People either pronounce it as "hang" without the "h" or spell it with an "e" on the end.
My lj username comes from the alias I chose for irc.
It's Ang. Grrr.
