Not as successful as I'd hoped.

Yesterday was a baaaaaaaaaaaaad start on the to do list. I didn't really get as much done as I'd hoped, partly because of the unexpected washing machine problem and partly because I spent two hours in The Strand looking for a woolly hat for my brother's birthday. There seems to be some sort of national shortage of the above.

Going to The Strand did mean I could buy some cubed lamb so once I got home I made myself a Lancashire hotpot and damn fine it was too. Just carrots, onions, stock and lamb with a little bit of thyme and a generous covering of sliced potato. Served with bread, of course.

Now, if you excuse me, I'm going to attack the freezer with a hairdryer.
