Silly girl.

I've been remaining cool over the American election, right up to this morning when I heard Obama's victory speech on the TV. Reader, I cried.

Goosebumps for me - but one of our advisors cried. What a day.

Just read the full text of the speech. It wa amazing. I hope he lives up to peoples expectations at least for the most part.

At work, and I'd do a letter, check the results map on Yahoo. Do another letter, check the map again, etc. etc.

Such a relief when they called it just after 3.00 pm Wednesday here. What his presidency will actually bring remains to be seen, but right now for the first time in a long time I think of America with a sense of hope instead of a sense of disgust.

When I got home and actually watched some of the victory celebrations and speechmaking, *then* I cried.
