Grrrrrrrr.

Hope all you Londoners are okay.
I had a good idea. Because I'm off out for a drink tonight I decided to get my car serviced today. The plan was to drop the car at 8.30 when the garage opens, get the bus from the stop outside, then a 10 minute walk to the university. I was expecting to be in at 9.30 and so work till 6 to make the time up.
It took longer than expected to book the car in so I missed the early bus (although catching this would have been a bonus). Then the bus I expected to catch was 10 minutes late and arrived with an ominous 'A' next to the number. This bus didn't pass a 10 minute walk from the university, it actually takes a different route taking me into the town centre.
I got to town at about 9.15. I decided to nip to Boots and get my lunch (thereby saving me having to go out at lunchtime). This saved me no time at all as I had to get a refund on my lunch because I'd made the mistake of buying grapes instead of crisps (this rant will reappear on the other side of this cut.) Then I decided to get the bus up the hill thinking that because it had taking an alternative route avoiding the roadworks it would do so again today. It didn't. I arrived at work after 10 o'clock with a panicking Lu wondering why the computers didn't work. Of course, the cluster had chosen today to go tits up. GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
So. Boots meal deal. Is it only me who thinks it makes absolutely no sense the way they work it.
Red deal is £2.39 and the green deal is £2.99. I bought a red sandwich, a green dessert (grapes) and a drink expecting to pay the green deal £2.99 price. It doesn't work like that - it's the sandwhich which determines the deal so I was charged £3.55. I got a refund and bought the meal again but this time with a packet of crisps (now I think about it I could have got the grapes after all and only been charged 20p more.)
What annoys me isn't the cost. It's the fact that she could have mentioned this while the stuff went through (it'll save you 45p if you put some crisps with that) and that, once again, fresh and healthy food is priced less attractively than junk.
