While I'd rather be in Derby drinking Large I am pleased I had the opportunity to introduce Brownies to Llamas. Apparently they can give you a nasty suck but this one appeared resigned to its fate.

The Llama was pretty well behaved, too.

They have set times to meet certain animals. This was the 11.30 "meet the Llamas" session. Cow milking at 2, guinea pig holding at 1.15, pony grooming at 11.30. That sort of thing. They've also got an animal barn you can wander through and a farm shop (I've a massive corn fed chicken in the fridge now).

£3.00 for adults at the weekend but cheaper if you go midweek out of season. The rest of the place is a massive play area.

Llamas and alpacas capable of biting but have to be really provoked before they will do so (this can also happen if they mistake your hand for a carrot). It's much more likely that they will spit at you, an experience not to be wished for as they can generate quite a lot of phlem.

I had taken tissues with me but I was more worried about them coming into close contact with a cow's gob. Those animals can salivate like *anything*
